One idea can change your life. Sara Blakely came up with the idea for Spanx in the late 1990s when she was just 27 years old and working as a salesperson, selling fax machines door to door. Around this time, she was invited to a party and wanted to look her best in a white pair of trousers. She took a pair of scissors and cut the feet off of a pair of tights. She loved the way the new undergarment made her look and spent the next two years and $5,000 of her savings traveling to numerous clothing manufacturing plants up and down North Carolina in the name of research. She has had an incredible journey. From getting her idea for the product to developing it, marketing and selling it, she displayed innovation and determination along every step of the way. Listen to Sara’s incredible journey, from salesperson to billionaire.
